Single grain whisky, japan / honshu tasting notes nose: fresh and seductive at the same time, it reveals sweet notes of very ripe pear, cherry juice and exotic fruits. citrus fruits, blood oranges and lemon, appear to give way to subtle floral notes, apple blossom and cherry blossom. when opened, it becomes more gourmet and pastry-like with coconut, bourbon vanilla and chouquettes filled with whipped cream. underlying, fine touches of mint and a hint of musk. appearance: beautiful gold. mouth: juicy and greedy to perfection, it keeps the promises of the nose. a farandole of ripe fruit accentuated by frank notes of rum (banana) and caramel. it becomes more complex on zan, liquorice and star anise. the mid-palate becomes more fruity, dominated by pear nectar and quickly gives way to creamier flavors without ever becoming heavy. the freshness is omnipresent. finish: just as delicious as the mouth, it develops on pear and bourbon vanilla before vanishing on a very nice and light bitterness.

Rum, philippines tasting notes nose: the nose is very sweet, orange and vanilla. like an oriental confectionery, the rum caresses the nostrils with a pinch of icing sugar. one could think of a turkish delight flavored with strawberry or rose water. the candied orange peel still contains some of its slightly bitter oil, which brings a little more relief. palate: the palate is soft, fluid, and quite sweet. the confectionery and bubblegum atmosphere remains, however we could have expected a stickier texture. vanilla slides slowly on the tongue, orange gets in tune and forgets any hint of bitterness. on the other hand, there is a slight spicy, peppery note, which enhances the whole. finish: the finish is very sweet, between strawberry, banana and orange in the form of confectionery.

Rum, venezuela a blend of 80% "heavy" and 20% "light" rums, aged up to 12 years in oak barrels. distilled from almost 100% molasses, diplomatico reserva is a pure, sweet and aromatic tasting rum. marked by notes of fruit cake, raisins, cocoa, cinnamon, cloves, with a touch of banana on the finish, this is a very rich rum.
