
The vigna d'alfiero is born from sangiovese grapes coming from one of the historic vineyards of the winery, planted in the late 1960s by the first farmer and reference figure of the tenuta valdipiatta alfiero carpini. produced only in the best years, vigna d'alfiero knows how to combine the richness, elegance and finesse of sangiovese with the strong character imprinted by the company's terroir. 100% sangiovese recommended pairings: structured and important dishes such as pasta with sauces based on game, mushrooms or truffles, grilled and stewed red meats, baked or stewed game, roasts and long-matured cheeses.

After years of relentless experimentation, they identified the "asinone" vineyard as the grape's most qualitatively promising. the nobile "asinone" represents the most complete synthesis of tradition, terroir, and winemaking innovation. made from sangiovese grapes, it expresses a recognizable style and a distinct character. tuscany in a glass. the vineyard, over 40 years old, is located in clayey soil with a high concentration of magnesium and potassium, giving the wine great depth and complexity. the bunches are small, with small, thick-skinned berries, contributing to the wine's remarkable muscularity and fullness. the grapes, harvested extremely punctually at the peak of phenolic ripeness, allow for maximum aromatic expression. after the manual harvest, there is a second manual selection in the cellar where only the finest bunches are selected. the best vintages are 100% sangiovese. other vintages use approximately 10% colorino and canaiolo. aging 16-18 months in french oak tonneaux.
